Specialist Dementia Training

We are accredited by Hertfordshire County Council to provide specialist Dementia Care. All staff working with people with dementia are trained in an approach called Person-First Dementia Care. This training has four levels:

• Dementia Awareness training which is delivered to everyone who works within the homes
• The Edexcel accredited Level 2 BTEC Award in Dementia Care
• Our 10 module Certificate in Dementia Care undertaken by Unit Managers and Duty Managers
• NOCN accredited Level 3 Leadership in Dementia Care undertaken by Home Managers, Deputies and Regional Managers.

Each home also has a ’Champion of Dementia Care’, who has completed the Certificate in Dementia Care and is trained to offer specialist advice and support to residents and families.

Quantum Care also has a large group of trained ‘Dementia Care Mappers’, who are able to carry out assessments on the standard and quality of the care being achieved.
