Each person in our homes has a care plan. This is the contract of care between the individual home, the resident and their family or friends. The care plan is the map that gives staff the right direction to meet someone’s needs.
You can help to draw up the care plan of your relative or friend. Indeed, you may have vital information that can help us to provide the best care possible. If your relative or friend has dementia, for instance, it is really helpful if you can provide us with a full history of their life. This can help us to understand the real person and their likes and dislikes, and can help us to make sure we deliver the care that is right for them.
