Fosse House in St. Albans is a modern building in an attractive landscaped garden, featuring a fish pond, aviary and fruit trees. Close to a small parade of shops and a supermarket, we have the facilities to cater for some 60 older people in four separate units of 15. Three of these units care for people living with dementia.
Each unit (run by a Care Team Manager and dedicated care staff) has a spacious lounge – equipped with radio and TV – as well as a dining room and assisted bath and shower room. All the rooms have en-suite facilities and a TV and phone socket.
Our catering staff provide nutritious meals and cater for special diets. There is always a choice of dishes, and residents are involved in designing menus where possible.

- Two hairdressers visit once a week and make use of our modern salon
- An optician visits regularly and offers appointments
Our on-site day centre offers a full programme of activities to people from the local community and we also have an interesting programme for our residents. Every month, a C of E church service is held in the home and a Methodist lay preacher conducts occasional services too. We have regular visits from a local priest.
