Hospital Escorts

Although we would like to be able to send a Quantum Care employee to hospital with every resident, this is not always possible – particularly during the hours of 9pm to 8am when our home operates with a reduced staff. We have to think about the needs of all our other residents.

Where we are unable to provide an escort, we always send relevant written information to the hospital with the ambulance crew. We then telephone the hospital and give verbal information and get regular updates. We will also phone the next of kin to explain the situation so that they have the opportunity to go to the hospital if they are able to do so.

In emergencies, we endeavour to send an escort but we still look to families to support us and meet us at the hospital, as our staff members are often under a lot of pressure and need to return to take care of other residents.

Planned Hospital visits can be organised at a convenient time to suit families.
