Hyde Valley House is a well established residential care home for 46 older people, close to local shops, churches and a park. There is an enclosed patio and garden for residents to enjoy.

There are three groups of residents in the home. Each group have their own lounge and dining room. All bedrooms are single with television and telephone points. A call system is fitted as standard.

As well as providing a range of nutritious meals and catering for special diets, our two activity organisers assisted by the staff team arrange a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including regular outings. The lounge on our dementia care unit is set up as a multi-sensory environment and Hyde Valley House also has memorabilia boxes for trips down memory lane and access to the Hertfordshire Libraries reminiscence materials.

We offer a range of services on site. Doctors from the local surgeries visit weekly; district nurse, optician, chiropodist, physiotherapist and the occupational therapist will visit on request. Our residents are assessed by the Falls Prevention Team as required. Chiropodist, dentist, optician and the Hearing Advisory Service visit the home regularly. We also have our own hairdresser who visits twice weekly. We have regular church services in the home.

Hyde Valley also provides two short stay beds to enable people to have an enjoyable break. There is also a small, but lively day centre for 8 clients living in the community.
