On Wednesday 9th June Providence Court will be holding a Dementia Talk at the Home.
The talk will begin at 7pm, and will explain in everyday language what dementia is (and what it is not). It will explore some of the reasons dementia affects people in the way it does and go on to look at what can be done to help offset the impact of the illness. We will finish by looking at how the Home approaches working with people living with dementia and their families.
The talk normally lasts about 1½ hours, and includes time for questions. Afterwards guests will have the opportunity to have an informal discussion with the speaker and with staff from the Home over tea and coffee. A range of handouts and booklets will be available relating to the various topics covered in the talk
