Not For Profit

What does 'Not for Profit' mean?

Quantum Care was formed in 1992 as an Industrial and Provident Society. An Industrial and Provident Society is an organisation conducting an industry, business or trade for the benefit of the community, and which is registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965.

As part of being an Industrial and Provident Society, Quantum Care is a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation. This means that any surplus (or profit) is re-invested back into the company for improving the quality of facilities, services and standards. This doesn’t mean that we do not have to make a profit, however, as we have to be able to meet the running costs of the organisation. What it does mean, is that we are not paying heavy dividends to shareholders, and therefore can be focused entirely on improving standards of care.
