The Mead is an attractive, purpose-built home for 60 older people situated in Borehamwood. All of the 15 bedrooms in each of our four units have ensuite facilities, telephones, television point and call bell points. There is an enclosed garden with pleasant grounds for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Two of the units are dedicated to caring for those living with dementia and three specific rooms are allocated for people who require a short break.
With the help of the residents, our staff organise a range of activities, such as discussions, board games, and sherry sing-a-long evenings. A reminiscence room is being developed.

Each Sunday, those who wish can travel to the local church. Communion is offered in the home every Sunday by the local priest and, for those that can't get out to church, a monthly service is conducted in the home by the local vicar.
If you are interested in any of the services please feel free to ring the home directly. There is a Service Request form available to download in the ‘Families' section of this site.
If you are specifically interested in short breaks, they are booked via Adult Care Services. Please speak to your social worker or phone the call centre on 01438 737400.
