Willow Court, which opened in 2001, is situated near to Harpenden town centre. Our 61 bedrooms are arranged in four separate units, one of which is dedicated to people living with dementia.
As well as a dining room, lounge and a small kitchen, each unit has assisted bathrooms, shower rooms, and additional toilets. Two bedrooms are used for people wanting short breaks and we also have a Day Centre offering places for 12 local people. There are attractive enclosed gardens for residents and their visitors to enjoy.
Each resident has their own furnished bedroom with en-suite facilities, a telephone, a TV socket and call bell points. Residents are, however, welcome to bring into the home any possessions and items of furniture they wish, provided they are within the limits of safety and space is available. (Please see the section on Valuables).
Staff and residents organise a range of activities, many of which are adapted to suit the abilities and the wishes of those using our services, e.g. discussions, board games and sherry sing-a-long evenings. Everyone is assigned a Key Worker who helps them settle into the home and pays special attention to their individual needs.
