100 year old Earnest Searling from Heath House

On Sunday, 100 year old Earnest Searling from Heath House was invited to attend the Cenotaph parade in London. The former Royal Marine enlisted the day that war broke out in 1939 and served throughout the Second World War and beyond. An interview with Ernie was featured as part of the BBC1 coverage of the Parade where Ernie spoke about some of his experiences in active service. Here you can see Ernie pictured with Lieutenant Colonel Reggie Turner who pushed him in his wheelchair.
