Celebrating our New Build Project in Letchworth

On Wednesday 23rd July, Councillor Trisha Cowley, Chair of North Herts District Council was joined by Maria Ball, Chief Executive, Alan Clarke Chair of the Board and Kulbir Lalli, Head of Integrated Accommodation Commissioning for Hertfordshire County Council to perform a turf cutting ceremony to mark the commencement of our new care home in Letchworth Garden City. [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"2220","attributes":{"class":"media-image alignnone size-full wp-image-8414","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"500","height":"333","title":"ISG at Letchworth","alt":""}}]] The new home is a partnership project between Hertfordshire County Council and Quantum Care, and will replace the current Freeman House in Letchworth and Minsden in Hitchin. It has been designed by RDT design and is being constructed by ISG. It will be opening in Autumn 2015, and has been designed to care for older people with a variety of short and long term care needs. It will have specially designed living spaces for people with dementia, as well as for those with physical and other disabilities. It will feature a communal plaza area including a Best Friends Café, hairdressing salon and mini shopping area, which are open to residents, family and friends. The ceremony was also attended by senior representatives from Quantum Care and Hertfordshire County Council, as well as local residents and staff from Minsden and Freeman House. Maria Ball, Chief Executive of Quantum Care said “this is a really exciting project and we are really pleased to be working in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council to provide such a high standard of accommodation for older people in Letchworth Garden City”.
