Fire Dance Show Brings Joy to Residents at Greenacres

Residents of our Greenacres care home in Wellfield Close, Hatfield have been treated to an exciting fire show from local performer Hayley Steele.

Hayley came to the home on Friday evening to perform for residents in their central courtyard. The show was set to music and saw Hayley performing a breath-taking fire dance routine.

Hayley, who works at the Proud Cabaret Club in London, is a member of the Fuel Girls and also performs internationally, originally approached Greenacres’ parent company Quantum Care during lockdown when she was unable to work. She wanted to be able to give something back to her community, so offered a free fire show to care homes in her local area. Greenacres immediately responded to say that they would love to host her. Sadly, Hayley was unable to visit the care home on the arranged date due to another Covid-19 Government lockdown, so when she finally was able to visit last week, she was enthusiastically received.

Greenacres Deputy Manager Marta Plizga said “The residents and staff were absolutely thrilled by Hayley’s fire show. She performed her routine in the garden of the home, with some residents joining her in the garden and others watching from the lounge windows. Everybody loved it, and they were all cheering and clapping. The Greatest Showman was our favourite film during the lockdowns and everybody was so excited to see a live performance. We can’t thank Hayley enough for such a wonderful evening”.

Hayley said “Having worked in care homes in the past, I really appreciate how hard the staff have been working during the pandemic and how difficult it must have been for residents during the lockdown. I therefore really wanted to be able to put on a show that would bring joy and happiness to the home, and I was delighted to see how much everyone enjoyed it”.
