Fosse House and Willow Court welcome visit from local MPs

Friday 14th January turned out to be a bumper day for Quantum Care when two of its care homes received visits from their local MPs. Fosse House in St Albans were delighted to welcome newly appointed MP Daisy Cooper and Willow Court in Harpenden were joined by Harpenden and Hitchin MP Bim Afolami.

Both MPs were taken on a tour of their local home, where they had the opportunity to meet residents, families and members of the Quantum Care senior team. Since it was Valentine’s Day, the homes were decorated with hearts and flowers, with Fosse House holding a romantic piano concert for residents and Willow Court celebrating with a Valentine’s tea party.

After the tours, the MPs spent time with Maria Ball, Chief Executive of parent company Quantum Care and Chair of the National Care Forum; the body representing the Not for Profit care sector, and other members of the senior team. Both MP’s were interested to hear about some of the challenges currently being faced in social care as well as learning about new innovation and creativity being developed in the Not for Profit sector as a whole.

Maria Ball said “We were really privileged to have two MP visits in one day and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to highlight both the challenges and the huge positives we experience in social care. At Quantum Care we are really proud of the care and support our residents experience at Fosse House and Willow Court, and are extremely grateful for the warmth with which we are welcomed in the St Albans and Harpenden communities and by our local MPs”.

During his visit, Bim was presented with a Valentine’s rose by resident Gladys. Afterwards, Gladys said “It was lovely to meet Bim and present him with the rose. Bim’s wife doesn’t have anything to worry about though, I am a 96-year-old lady!”
