Grand Opening of the Meresworth Best Friends Café

On Friday 21st October 2011 residents and staff at Meresworth, our care home in Rickmansworth, hosted the grand opening of their new Best Friends Café. [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"1726","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-4760","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","title":"A corner of the Best Friends Cafe at Meresworth","alt":""}}]] These dedicated in-home areas are styled, furnished and equipped to provide our residents with a cafe environment in which to sit and chat with friends and family over tea, coffee and cakes. For residents living with dementia, these Best Friend Cafés complement our existing care initiatives by helping to bring more of the outside world into their daily lives. Also present were Maria Ball, Chief Executive of Quantum Care and Alan Clarke, Chair of the Quantum Care Board. The celebrations ended with a live performance from a visiting entertainer and a great deal of dancing and merrymaking by residents and staff alike.
