Happy 100th Birthday to Eve from Heath House

Wishing a very happy 100th birthday to Evelyn (Eve) Routh! Surrounded by family and friends, she celebrated the special occasion at Heath House. Eve has had a very interesting one hundred years: born in 1917, her parents were a double-act known as ‘The Great Zanettos’ who had an incredible career, performing for Queen Victoria and the Shah of Iran as well as working alongside Charlie Chaplin! A milliner by trade, Eve had a wealth of extra talents and made her own TV appearances, most notably when she worked alongside Britain’s first health guru, the late Eileen Fowler, on the BBC’s first keep-fit programme! A keen dancer, Eve often joined in with hoedown dancing with her late husband who ran the Bushey Hoedown Dancing Club. As if that weren’t enough, Eve also worked as a Beauty Councillor! Clients would come to Eve’s house and she would make them look glamorous before they went out to parties. After such an exciting life, her 100th birthday had to be something very special. Live music, singing and, of course, plenty of dancing went down a treat and the staff from Heath House presented Eve with a copy of a newspaper from the day she was born! Her daughter, Poppy, and her son-in-law flew in from New York for the occasion and were delighted to see Eve and celebrate such an important day with her.
