Heath House Activities Schedule For August 2011

The August activities schedule for Heath House is now available and includes: 1st - In the morning there will be an arts and crafts session in the sun lounge. These sessions offer residents an excellent way to exercise their creativity. After lunch we will be holding one-to-one chats and offering manicures. 2nd - We'll be taking a group of ten residents out for lunch to the Southern Cross in Watford. The pub has an excellent menu. 3rd - A chance to get together in the Sun Lounge in the morning for our regular chit-chat club. This offers residents a great opportunity for reminiscence, browsing the latest news and generally chatting in a social atmosphere. 4th - Games and puzzles on the Windsor and Osborne suites including a bit of a sing song. 5th - Our regular game of bingo in the morning. This is proving extremely popular with residents and we'll need to expand the available places soon! 6th - Just for fun on a Saturday we'll be playing a musical version of bingo in the morning. 9th - We shall be taking some residents out for a bus ride and ice cream before lunch. For some of our residents a trip out to a pub for lunch proves a little tiring for them so this gives us an excellent opportunity to cater for their particular needs. 10th - We are visiting the 1940s house at Lincolnsfield in Bushey. Twelve residents will be going on the trip to take a look around and have coffee and cake in the cafe. 11th - Another two residents will be going swimming at the Aspire pool in Stanmore, accompanied by carers. 12th - Bingo in the Sun Lounge in the morning. Some residents who don't play still like to come along as it's a fairly social event at which refreshments are always available. 13th - Saturday evening is our pub night, open to both residents and families. These nights usually end in a bit of a sing song. 15th - Arts and crafts in the Sun Lounge in the morning and one-to-one chats and manicures in the afternoon. 16th - Our trip to Southend. We shall be going for the day and having fish and chips at the Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant. Fingers crossed for the weather. 17th - A morning of games on both the Windsor and Osborne suites. 18th - Morning swimming for another 2 of our residents at the Aspire Pool. 19th - Our usual bingo morning in the Sun Lounge. 20th - Friends and family coffee morning in the Sun Lounge, accompanied by the pianist Paul Jaffar. 22nd - Arts and crafts morning in the Sun Lounge and one-to-one chats along with manicures in the afternoon. 23rd - We'll be taking another 10 residents out to lunch at The Blue Check Restaurant in Bushey. 24th - Music quiz in the Sun Lounge or the garden if the weather is nice in the morning. 25th - We shall be taking some residents out for a bus ride and ice cream before lunch. For some of our residents a trip out to a pub for lunch proves a little tiring for them so this gives us an excellent opportunity to cater for their particular needs. 26th - Bingo in the morning. 30th - Ten more residents will be going out for a pub lunch at the Harvester in Bushey. 31st - Mixed activities, eg painting, arts and crafts, dominoes and other games, in the morning.
