Heath House Shabbat

Heath House held their first Shabbat this month, a festive day when people of Jewish faith take a break from everyday labours to spend time with family and contemplate the spiritual aspects of life. Shabbat is observed from just before sunset on Friday until the appearance of three starts in the sky on Saturday, it’s usually ushered in by lighting candles and reciting a blessing. Rabbi Feldman from the Bushey United Synagogue joined eight Jewish residents and three family members at Heath House for the occasion, which was a real success. Shabbat will be held weekly in the home and several family members are supporting Heath House in celebrating other religious events throughout the year.
