Hyde Valley Carer Reaches Final of National Awards

Congratulations go to Kerry Wilson from Hyde Valley House for being short listed for the Care Newcomer Award in the Great East of England Care Awards. Kerry has been at Hyde Valley House since November 2009 which she joined as a careworker. Despite no previous experience of working with people with dementia she immediately immersed herself in the role, eagerly attending all training offered and using the skills she learned to understand residents' needs. Her dedication and commitment has also been extended outside her working hours when she comes to the home in her own time to visit residents and offers time, gentleness and encouragement. The award winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 29th October at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. We wish Kerry the very best of luck.
