Letter of Praise for The Fairway Care Home

The Fairway receive many letters of praise from families, but a letter received recently really made them feel proud of the care they deliver. The letter read as follows; Dear Ionie, What do you want from a residential care home? Your answers will be completely different from your loved one who is to live there, but The Fairway for me, and especially for my Mother ticked ALL the boxes. She was fiercely independent and didn't mix. Everyone at the home took this in their stride. They even allowed her to keep her budgie. When I had questions they were answered. I found on my visits that staff morale was excellent, and that meant that the residents felt their love for them. I found the home had pleasant grounds, good public transport, and relatives could make drinks and snacks. There is a garden to sit in to make your visit pleasurable. The management of the service was exceptional. I was very pleased with the home. From the receptionists, the carers and the cook to the managers, all showed warmth, caring and were friendly. As much detail as I could give was recorded and when necessary acted upon, ensuring my mother's independence was catered for. I saw these needs were met. At the time of her death, staff treated her family with care, sensitivity and dignity, insisting there was no hurry to clear effects from her room. A BIG thank you to everyone. Yours sincerely David SHERWOOD
