More Alzheimer's Society Approved Trainers at Quantum Care

In August three more of our dementia trainers were assessed by the Alzheimer's Society for possible admission to the society's Approved Trainer Scheme. Their skill in facilitation and commitment to promoting a truly person centered approach in their training was recognized in the outcome of the days observation. Mim Prior, who is based in the training department, gained Approved Trainer status at GOLD level. Our two Casual Dementia Trainers, Queenie Cheetham and Claire Lennon who are based at Belmont & Hyde Valley and who deliver training for the department on an occasional basis, achieved SILVER status. This was a brilliant result for three people who had worked really hard to plan and perfect their sessions and who had supported each other through what is an in depth assessment. The assessor was full of praise for their performance and for Quantum Care's commitment to developing top quality dementia training. This brings our total of Alzheimer's Approved Trainers up to three GOLD and two SILVER standard (with Queenie & Claire already aiming for Gold next year when they are due for the annual reassessment required of all Approved Trainer's)
