On Wednesday 18th July, Lady Verulam, Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Anne Maine MP, County Councillor Colette Wyatt-Lowe and Deputy Town Mayor Councillor Julie Bell joined forces to perform a ceremony to mark the opening of the new extension to Fosse House Care Home for older people in St Albans.
Fosse House currently provides residential and dementia care for 6o older people. The new extension is a partnership project between Hertfordshire County Council who own the building and Quantum Care who operate the care services. The new extension has been specially commissioned to enable older people to live as independently as possible, with support on hand when it’s necessary. The 20 bed extension comprises luxury en-suite bedrooms and associated living spaces. Each area has been designed to be contemporary, welcoming and of the highest standard. Quantum Care is extremely proud of this initiative which will provide much needed accommodation for older people in the St Albans and surrounding areas.
The ceremony was also attended by senior representatives from Hertfordshire County Council and Quantum Care as well as staff and residents from Fosse House. Maria Ball, Chief Executive of Quantum Care said “this is a really exciting project and we are really pleased to be working in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council to provide such a high standard of accommodation for older people in St Albans”.
