The evening is an opportunity for us to give each one of our finalists the recognition and congratulations they deserve for the outstanding contributions they have made, and which make a real and positive difference to the lives of our residents. The event took place in Elstree, and began with a champagne reception before guests were invited to take their seats for a 3 course meal. The evening’s ceremony then commenced with a superman-style entrance from the evening’s hosts Sam Cheekoory, Director of Operations, and Debbie Gilard, Marketing and Communications Manager for Quantum Care. The spectacular entrance introduced the theme for this year’s awards ceremony - ‘unmasking the superheroes among us’, and each of our real life superheroes certainly were with touching nominations submitted by residents, their families and fellow staff members read out as each finalist was announced. The night also included a few surprise awards - the Quality Award, the Business Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was awarded to a very special lady who had dedicated many, many years of her life to those she cares for. In the middle of the evening guests were also invited to take to their feet for a Superman dance contest, with a bottle of champagne awarded to the table with the best moves! Each attendee also discovered an envelope hidden underneath their chair with a special superheroes badge to wear throughout the evening. A few lucky guests also won a bottle of wine, and one very lucky winner won a dinner for two with wine, courtesy of the Holiday Inn, Elstree. The evening concluded with a very special video which featured a whole group of our very own superheroes, who do their utmost to make sure that our care homes are a wonderful place to be - it was a fantastic evening, and a proud moment for team Quantum!
