On the 17th July, Lisa Humphreys, our assistant support services manager, attended the Care Culinary workshop which was held at Knorr Kitchens in Leatherhead.
The event provided information on how to flavour different meals for the elderly and those with dementia. The soups that were sampled included: cauliflower and peppercorn puree, pea soup, roasted cauliflower and garlic, celery & caramelised apple and butternut squash with an Indian paste.
Different tastes of sugars were also explored and included: basil, orange, lemon and rosemary.
Here is what Lisa said about the day: "We were asked to make a meal for two for our lunch and it would be judged at the end and a winner would then be chosen. I paired myself up with a gentleman called Pav and we made Chicken tikka marsala with pilau rice, onion bhajis and a coriander and tomato yoghurt.
Over all it was a very good experience at the workshop and I would like to do it again in the future."
