Join us at Providence Court on Wednesday 23rd May for the grand opening of the Best Friends Café! The event starts at 12pm and will offer a delicious buffet lunch, teas and coffees and a pop up cake stall raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society for Dementia Awareness Week!
Congratulations to Mayfair Lodge’s Home Manager, Jackie Makwangwala on receiving your Long Service Award for 20 years of outstanding work at Quantum Care!
Fosse House’s music and movies fundraiser, arranged by Beth and Emily, was a definite success, raising over £200 for the residents’ amenities! The event had staff dressing up, a cake competition, food from around the world, karaoke and live singing from Hayley (which got everyone up and dancing!). A big thank you to everyone who came along to support Fosse House!
Jubilee Court’s mini-bus fund has gotten off to a fantastic start with a generous donation from the Co-op thanks to employees Geraldine and Bobby running an Easter raffle from their store at The Oval in Stevenage. Our residents were delighted to receive a cheque for £344 and would like to say a massive thank you to Geraldine, Bobby and everyone at the Co-op!
An inspirational project tackling loneliness among older people and those living with dementia has moved into a care setting in Harlow.
Creative ageing charity Equal Arts has teamed up with Tye Green Lodge to bring its award-winning HenPower project to residents and staff.
First piloted in the North East, the project combines hens and creativity to reduce loneliness and improve the wellbeing of older people and those living with dementia.
A huge thank you to Billy, the grandson of one of Mountbatten Lodge’s residents, and his Cub friends; they did a fantastic job helping with the home’s National Care Home Open Day, raising over £40 and making a lovely afternoon extra special! At the end of the day, they were proud to be presented with their own Quantum Care badges as thanks for all of their hard work!
Olivia came along to Richard Cox House to put on a royal concert for the residents in celebration of the Queen’s Birthday!
Residents at The Fairway have been trying out a few Mary Berry recipes! They made fork biscuits and cupcakes to enjoy with tea and a bit of music. The recipe was clearly a good one since the freshly baked treats were gone before anyone had a chance to get a picture of them!
Heath House residents have been making the most of the sunshine! They all enjoyed getting out into the home’s lovely garden for music and singing, topped with a cheeky cider!
Last week we celebrated the launch of our new Oomph Wellness programme! Each of the 15 care homes now running the exercise sessions hosted their own launch event, joined by friends, family and neighbours. All 15 homes have staff fully trained to deliver the activities and support residents and day centre members in taking part. Members of the public are also welcome to come into their local home to join in for just £2 per session! This is a fantastic way of staying active in older age and getting to know your community’s care home better.
