Stirling University held its 4th international dementia conference at the ExCel International Conference Centre, London, on the 19th-21st of October this year. The "Coming of age: Dementia in the 21st century" conference attracted a number of international experts in the field of dementia as well as other professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
The staff and residents at Belmont View are holding a firework party night at the home on the 3rd November 2010. All friends and family are invited. The event starts at 6:30pm and costs £5 per family, with a hot dog or hamburger included in the price.
The Alzheimer's Society, working with Adult Care Services Hertfordshire Partnership Trust and Quantum Care, bring you the Your Care, Your Choice Conference which offers an opportunity for you to discuss what you think of current services in your community.

September 2010 saw a new intake into our Fast track Deputy Care Home Manager Programme. This is designed to give experienced deputies the opportunity to gain qualifications and develop the skills and knowledge they would need to run the home effectively in the absence of a Home Manager. It is particularly useful for people looking to develop their careers and gain promotion.
Congratulations go to Kerry Wilson from Hyde Valley House for being short listed for the Care Newcomer Award in the Great East of England Care Awards.
Residents at Hyde Valley House are now able to make free video and telephone calls over the Internet after Skype software was introduced at the home.
The new software has been very popular with many appreciative comments received; Mr C from Australia said: "Thank you for arranging the Skype call for mum yesterday with your lovely staff member Jayne assisting". The new software allows residents to keep in contact with relatives and friends from all over the World.
