World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

Tuesday 15th June was World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and Quantum Care joined with organisations across the world in holding an event to raise awareness of the issue.

Each of our homes invited friends and families to join residents and staff for a tea party on Wednesday 16th June to highlight the abuse of older people and to talk about how communities can work together to support one of the most vulnerable groups. At 2pm residents and staff came together to release balloons to mark their support for the campaign.

A spokeswoman for Quantum care said:

New home in Luton is named by local school

We are pleased to announce that the name for our new home is Trefoil House. Pupils from the Warden Hill Junior School adjacent to the site were invited to take part in a competition to name the new home. They were asked to create a name that would link into the local community and its history. The winning name was Trefoil House, named after the yellow flower Birds Foot Trefoil, which gives its name to Birdsfoot Lane. The winner, Zoe Barth, received a £20 book voucher which was presented by Wanda Spooner, Director, in a celebration assembly at the school.
