Construction Partners Receive Dementia Training

On the 20th July, Quantum Care's construction partners came to Silver Court, our head office in Welwyn Garden City, to receive dementia training. [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"1706","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-4342","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","title":"Quantum Care","alt":""}}]] The talk began with an explanation of what dementia is and how the illnesses that cause dementia affect the workings of the brain. The session went on to look at how people's ability to use and understand language and how their ability to perceive and understand their environment is affected, and to discuss the particular health and safety issues this raises. Also discussed was the importance of close liaison between the home's management and builders to help minimise the impact of building work on residents. Construction partners present were ISG Jackson and Tropus and Spicer.
