Life at our homes
Whether you are thinking about moving into a care home, or simply looking for some additional support, find out what life’s like in a Quantum Care Home.
With homes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex, each Quantum Care home provides its own special features, but all offer a place to enjoy life in a warm, friendly and caring environment; and with so many locations to choose from, you are sure to find the right one for you.
The environment within each of our care homes has been designed to create a real home from home feel. You can choose to spend your time with others in any of the many lounges, dining rooms and cosy corners, or you can enjoy the privacy of your own room whenever you wish. Family and friends can come to visit you in one of our many relaxation areas and cafés.
All bedrooms are fully furnished and equipped with their own telephone and TV connection point, but you are welcome to furnish it with your own personal possessions if you wish. Almost all of our homes offer en-suite facilities, and at our newer homes this includes a shower as well.
The interiors within our homes are complemented by the beautiful grounds which surround them, and offer the perfect place to relax. Each garden has been carefully designed with special features such as raised flower beds which allow our green fingered residents to continue to do all the things they’ve always enjoyed doing.
Within many of our homes you will also find a Best Friends Café. Here you can enjoy tea, coffee and homemade cake with visiting family and friends. We understand that spending time with your loved ones is important, and that’s why your guests are welcome to visit whenever you like.
For those family members who live a little further away, the Wi-Fi network within our homes will help you to keep in touch with the people you love, wherever they are.
People are happier and more contented when they stay physically and socially active. That’s why, at every Quantum Care home you will find a dedicated Activity Care Worker.
They’ll work with you to plan a wide range of activities for you to enjoy. They can help you pursue your favourite hobbies and interests, and maybe introduce you to some new ones. Some activities are enjoyed in groups, whilst others are offered on a one-to-one basis.
Feeling good is also about looking good. That’s why within our homes you’ll find a hairdressing salon, laundry and ironing service.
Your Dining Experience
Food isn’t only one of the greatest pleasures in life, it’s also vital to physical and mental well-being. That’s why we place such an emphasis on the experience of eating.
The chefs in our care homes can tailor each menu to meet a wide range of dietary requirements, and all our meals are prepared on site, using fresh ingredients from sustainable sources that are as local as possible. Meals can be enjoyed in our dining rooms or, if you’d prefer, in the privacy of your own room.
For a more sociable experience, you can also invite your family and friends to enjoy a meal with you.
When you move into a Quantum Care home you will have your own key worker who will get to know you and your family, and help you to settle in.
The staff within our homes will then work with you to help maintain your health and well-being, and make sure you live life to the full - whatever you need, we will do our best to take care of it.
For our staff caring is not just a job, but a vocation. Each and every member of staff receives first class training which continues throughout their professional career, so you can rest assured that you and your family are in the best of hands. Read more about our In-house Training Department.
