Dunstable Care Home Welcomes Visit from Local MP

On Friday 17th January, Dukeminster Court Care Home in Dunstable were delighted to host a visit from local MP Mr Andrew Selous.

The South West Bedfordshire MP was taken on a tour of the home by Home Manager Marta Carter, where he spent time chatting with the home’s elderly residents as well as families and staff. The tour finished with the opportunity to see the home’s extremely popular seated exercise class, where residents take part in exercises specially designed to help them keep fit and healthy in older age.

After the tour, Mr Selous spent time with Maria Ball, Chief Executive of parent company Quantum Care and Chair of the National Care Forum; the body representing the Not for Profit care sector. He was interested to hear about some of the challenges being faced in social care, as well as to hear about the innovation and creativity currently happening in the Not for Profit sector as a whole.

Maria Ball said “We were really pleased to host Mr Selous today and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to highlight to him both the challenges and the huge positives we experience in social care. At Quantum Care we are really proud of the care and support our residents experience at Dukeminster Court, and are extremely grateful for the warmth with which we are welcomed in the Dunstable community and by our local MP”.
