Greenacres Activity Worker Wins Community Volunteer Award

Well done to Jonathon Elkhuja, activity care worker at Greenacres, on winning the Valiant Volunteer Award at last week’s Welwyn Hatfield Times Community Awards! The awards ceremony was held on 20th July at Oaklands College where Jonathon was presented with his award by Formula One presenter David Croft! The aim of the night is to celebrate individuals and groups who have made a difference to others in their community and for Jonathon that is seen in his exceptional work volunteering for the Herts Young Homeless charity. For the past three years Jonathon has been speaking to young people about homelessness and representing the charity at networking and partnership events and going the extra mile to encourage and support everyone the charity helps. This is in addition to the fantastic job he does at Greenacres caring for and engaging the residents in the home. His nomination came from the charity itself and the award is definitely very well deserved!
