Last Roof Tile Fitted at New Care Home

The last tile was put on the roof at the new care home in Stevenage on Thursday 22nd December. The home, which is situated off Lonsdale Road is due to be completed in June 2012 and will provide much needed accommodation for older people in the local area. The tile was put into place by Maria Ball, Chief Executive of Quantum Care. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Hertfordshire County Council who own the building, as well as staff and residents of Newhaven and Bulwer Lytton Care Homes who will be moving to the brand new home on completion. Maria Ball said “I am really delighted to be putting the last tile on the roof, and am very much looking forward to seeing the home when it is finished. This is a very exciting project and we are really pleased to be working in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council to provide such a high standard of accommodation for older people in Stevenage”. The new care home has been named Jubilee Court following a competition for staff and residents. The winner was Janet Holmes from Bulwer Lytton House who wanted to name the home in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee which takes place in June 2012.
