The Tea Party was one of many activities and events which took place at our Borehamwood care home to mark Dementia Awareness Week, an annual event led by the Alzheimer’s Society to promote the message that life doesn’t end when dementia begins. The event took place within the Home’s Q Club which offers a day service for older people within the local community, and with numerous homemade cakes, scones and more, the event was packed from start to finish! The team from The Mead were also delighted to have the Mayor of Hertsmere in attendance, particularly as it was his final official engagement as Mayor. Jeannie Crockett, Home Manager said “We are so pleased with today’s Tea Party celebration – our homemade cakes are always so popular and went down a treat! Having the Mayor join us here today as well really made it special - Dementia Awareness Week is a really important event for us, and one that we hope to support every year.” [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"2541","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-10163","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"550","height":"733","title":"Homemade cakes!","alt":""}}]]
