St Albans VIPs join Care Home residents in their Macmillan Coffee Morning charity fundraiser

This morning, St Albans and District Mayor Rosemary Farmer and local Councillors Eileen Harris and Janet Smith visited Vesta Lodge in Watling Avenue St Albans to take part in their coffee morning.

The visitors joined residents, staff and families from the care home, where there was a huge array of delicious cakes on offer. They were also treated to a performance of Country and Western... music by the Oakland Country Music Duo.

The Mayor said “I was delighted to be able to join the residents, families, staff and volunteers at Vesta Lodge’s Macmillan coffee morning. It is a great charity and really good to be a part of this national event. Everybody had a really fantastic time filled with coffee, cake and good music, made all the nicer knowing it is in aid of a great cause!”

Vesta Lodge Home Manager Julie Hutchins said “I am so grateful to the Mayor and our Local Councillors for supporting us today. This was a really special event, for a very special cause and we are absolutely thrilled to have raised £185 for the charity”.
