St. Patricks Day

Day centre members and residents of Anson Court are getting in the party mood with a St Patrick’s Day knees up.

The care home in Shackleton Way, Welwyn Garden City has a whole week of Irish themed events planned, including Irish dancing, Irish sing-a-longs and of course a few pints of Guinness. Today’s party was just the beginning and was held in the home’s Day Care Centre. Guests enjoyed an Irish quiz, a game of toss the coin into the Pot of Gold and a bit of an Irish jig – all accompanied with a drink or two and some Irish- themed goodies.

Home Manager Kelly Crellin said “We really like to have fun here at the Anson Court Day Centre and it’s every excuse for a party! Our members really enjoy coming here and joining in with all the events we have going on. For those living alone, it is the opportunity to spend time with other people, where there is care and support on hand. For some it is the only opportunity they have to get out and about, so we want to make sure that the time spent with us is really enjoyable”.
