About Garden City Court

About Garden City Court

Respite breaks are available, both for local authority funded residents and those paying for their own care. Whether it’s for a few days or a few weeks, respite care at Garden City Court takes the pressure off home carers and gives residents the opportunity to enjoy the range of activities on offer and meet new people in the home. Guests staying for respite care receive the same standard of care as permanent residents from the home’s trained team.

Our home is organised into five households each benefiting from its own bedrooms and open plan living space comprising an inviting dining area, lounge, relaxation areas and a central island style kitchen. All bedrooms are fully furnished and feature an en-suite with shower, flat screen televisions and telephone connection point. Wi-fi runs throughout the home to keep in touch with family and friends wherever they are.

Within Garden City Court you will also find the Quantum Care Plaza, which features a hair and beauty salon, shop, cinema room, and Best Friends Café where residents can sit and chat with friends and family over tea, coffee and cake.

We understand the importance of maintaining vital contact with families and friends, so we have an on-site visitors pod at Garden City Court, which has been designed so that visits can take place comfortably and safely.

Throughout the day our Activity Care team will be on hand to plan a range of activities for you to enjoy, and you can take part in as much or as little as you like. If you enjoy the outdoors, the home benefits from a spacious central courtyard with raised flower beds where you can enjoy a spot of gardening, or simply relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.

Quantum’s care home in Letchworth offers the ideal setting for providing the high level of care each and every one of our residents deserves.

Allanah Hudson
Home Manager
The Home Manager runs all aspects of the home, taking care of the business side of things and ensuring their home provides a high standard of care. While each Manager brings their own flair to the role, they do all have some qualities in common, especially their leadership and organisational skills. The role is very varied, involving plenty of resident interaction alongside the more administrative work to keep the home running smoothly. Our Managers typically hold, or are working towards, a relevant qualification and have proven experience in caring for older people.

Phyllis Stuart
Deputy Home Manager
Hi, my name is Phyllis, I have worked for Quantum Care for over 10 years, I started as a Carer and progressed to Care Team Manager a role I really enjoyed and gained so much experience from. I then progressed to Deputy Manager and have been supporting for 3 months. Within this role, I manage all medication for the home, training and day-to-day management of the care team managers and staff. I support the Home Manager in all aspects of managing the home to ensure we at Garden City Court are offering the very best quality of life for our residents.

Satpal Kambo

The Chef Manager organises every aspect of the catering operation and provides a safe, nutritious, quality service to our residents using freshly produced food. With a hands-on role, leading a team, they provide a quality catering service and help create a warm and friendly atmosphere for our residents. Working with our residents they help to create menus to meet their needs and suit their tastes. They also create and provide fine dining events, using Quantum Care’s award-winning Dining Club concept.

Gayna West
Administrator
The Administrator will focus on the smooth running of the home; in whatever area they may be needed. From greeting visitors to recruiting, the Administrator is present in many aspects of life in the home, even if you don’t always see them! To be successful in the role, our Administrators have to be flexible and calm, able to multi-task and always keen to take on a new challenge. It’s often the Administrator that brings the IT skills to a home, helping them to keep everything organised. Above that though, Administrators are communicators, able to speak confidently and listen closely to everyone from Managers and Care Workers to visitors and residents.
