Adult Day Care Centres

A number of our Hertfordshire care homes offer an Adult Day Care service for older people. Our centres have been designed to provide care during the day for older people who are still living in their own home or with family, perhaps with the support of either a professional carer or family and friends. This service is ideal if you are caring for a loved one but need to take some time off for yourself or just want to know that your loved one is being fully taken care of for the day.

Our Adult Day Care Centres

Each of our adult day care centres offers up to a full day’s care for as many days of the week as needed (depending on opening hours), in a comfortable, friendly and stimulating environment. There’s always a friendly conversation to be had, an activity to take part in and a refreshment on the way.

Our day care guests are provided with a full two course meal and are offered refreshments throughout the day, so you can rest assured that we have good nutrition fully covered. We can also cater for most kinds of diet, and provide meals specifically designed to work for you.

Our day care centres are attached to one of our care homes which means that many of the facilities available to our full time residents are also available to our day care guests – such as a visit to the hairdresser (booked directly with the centre).

Why People Use Our Day Care Service

There are many reasons why people use our day care service. The most obvious is because of the care that they provide. Many of our guests require help with day to day living, either on a regular basis or just occasionally. Our centres help support those that need this help, ensuring that their care and nutritional needs are met.

Another valuable service that our centres provide is the sense of community and company that guests get from spending time in a place where they have the opportunity to socialise with others in a safe and compassionate environment. This helps combat any feelings of loneliness that can develop during periods of isolation and can significantly improve a person’s quality of life.

With respect to those caring for a loved one, our adult day care centres can help share the care, giving carers the time they need to rest or to do the things that they’ve not found the time to do.

Longer Term Respite Care

If you’re looking for care that’s a little longer term, say for a few days or a week or more, we also offer a respite service which includes full accommodation and 24 hour care in one of our care homes. This service is ideal if you are caring for, or concerned for a loved one, but need to take a few days or weeks off, perhaps for a holiday, a rest or just peace of mind.
