Julian Baust
Chair

Julian joined Quantum Care in April 2021 as the new Chair of the Board of Non-Executive Directors. Prior to taking early retirement in 2010, Julian was Chairman and Managing Director of Kodak Ltd. He has more than 35 years’ commercial experience of organisational transformation, redesign and performance management, gained within product and service businesses. He has executive management experience in sales, marketing, operations and general management in the UK and Nordic, managing Kodak Ltd through the significant change from film to digital.

Since retiring from Kodak, Julian has served as a Non Exec. on a number of different Boards:

– Snappy Snaps Franchises (2010 to 2013)

– Diabetes UK 2010 to 2019 (Deputy-Chair 2012 to 2019)

– Cambridge and Peterborough NHS FT 2013 to 2022 (Deputy Chair 2014 to 2022)

– Settle (Housing Assoc.) 2017 to 2021

– Stancombe Management Co 2022 to date

In addition to his commercial knowledge Julian brings experience in the charity, health, and housing sectors to his role at Quantum Care.

 

Andrew May
Board Member

Andrew is a Chartered Surveyor and member of the Institute of Directors having spent over 35 years in all aspects of the built environment, over 20 years in industry and 13 years in public office.  Andrew successfully led a management buy-out from a large corporate and has held a number of senior executive roles within universities, research institute and the department of education property company, LocatED, where he was Development Director with responsibility for development and asset management.

Andrew is Advisory Board Chair at Student First Group and a member of the Government funded Be the Business, an organisation established to help business owners and leaders, where he is both a mentor and on the board of two SME’s.

Andrew’s insight into elderly care came from his own experience of elderly relatives seeking care and he is delighted about joining the board and making a contribution to the future of Quantum Care.

David Cox
Board Member

David joined the Board of Quantum Care in July 2022.  David is currently the Group Marketing Director at Spire Healthcare, UK’s leading independent hospital group.  He brings commercial marketing experience across a range of industries including Travel/Leisure, Transport, Financial Services, Retail, Property and Healthcare.  He has managed multi-disciplined teams across insight, proposition development, digital, brand growth, sales, customer contact and customer experience.

David Norris
Board Member

David is a Chartered Accountant who has many years of senior management experience in commercial companies in such areas as retail and staffing together with undertaking consultancy work for part of the Church of England as well as in Social housing.

In all of the roles that he has undertaken healthcare has featured significantly with David having spent many years in private healthcare developing a hospital and nursing home group which later floated on the Stock Exchange. This work was followed by working for Department of Health on a national service development programme, developing investment business cases for a number of NHS trusts and working for NHS England on national change programmes

David has always lived in Hertfordshire and has had direct experience of close family using Quantum Care’s services.

Deborah Rennie
Board Member

Deborah is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has worked in a variety of UK and international businesses with responsibility for operational HR and HR strategy.  In addition, she has undertaken a variety of HR consulting roles focused on transformation projects, including in the not for profit sector.

Deborah’s initial insight of elderly care came from the needs and experience of close family members.  She is delighted to have the opportunity to use her skills and experience to support Quantum Care as it continues to evolve to deliver its vital services to the elderly in the communities it serves.

Graham McClelland
Board Member

Graham McClelland is a qualified biologist, psychologist, pharmacologist, and Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Medicine of the Royal Colleges of Medicine. He is the former CEO of an Egyptian public limited company which carried out property development and healthcare management consulting; and he continues to be a Visiting Professor of Clinical Research in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Alexandria. He has had many years of international management experience within the pharmaceutical industry, and was the UK Head of Clinical Research for Roche.

Joan Elliott
Board Member

Joan Elliott joined the Board of Quantum Care in July 2022.  Joan has significant experience in health and social care, working at Bupa for over 25 years in its insurance and provision businesses.  She held a number of senior finance positions including Finance Director of Bupa UK.  Her most recent role was as Managing Director for Bupa Care Services, accountable for leading their care homes and retirement villages in the UK.

Joan is also a Board Trustee of Independent Age, a charity which supports older people facing financial hardship.

Joga Atwal
Board Member

Joga is a highly accomplished professional and qualified accountant with over two decades of experience in the residential care sector, including senior positions such as CEO, COO, MD, and Senior Finance roles in a range of national and international multi-site businesses and charities.

He has a deep understanding of the sector and a proven track record of success in pioneering startups, building Nursing Care groups from the ground up, and leading them to successful exits.

Joga’s commitment to excellence in healthcare provision is evident in his multifaceted experience, which encompasses all aspects of the sector, from commercial property development to the delivery of care services. He is a valuable asset to any organization and his expertise is highly sought-after.

Stephen Daniells Conroy
Board Member

Stephen lives in Hertfordshire and has had a long and successful career in the NHS. He has extensive NHS Board level leadership in primary, community and acute organisations. He has whole system experience having held senior roles in local government including a dually accountable position working across health and social care in central London responsible for contracting for home, residential and nursing care. He has also worked for two private sector organisations as a management consultant on programmes at national and local levels.

Stephen has worked effectively in operational management (including crisis management), strategic planning, service reconfiguration and transformation programmes and is enthusiastic about improving service integration. His last NHS role was as CEO of Bedford Hospital, managing a full range of acute and emergency services where he was focussed on delivering high quality services to local residents. He retired in 2020 following the successful formation of the Bedfordshire NHS Trust, a single organisation managing acute services across Bedfordshire.
