Overview
Throughout The Mead you will find a wide range of communal areas including inviting lounges, cosy corners, dining rooms, themed areas and more.
All bedrooms are en-suite and are fully furnished. Each room benefits from internet connectivity, a telephone point and a nurse call system.
At The Mead our team of Activity Care Workers are on hand to plan a wide range of activities for you to enjoy, from arts and crafts and gentle exercise, to entertainment and outings, there is always something to get involved with.
If you enjoy the outdoors, The Mead’s beautifully landscaped gardens include meandering walkways and occasional seating areas and are the perfect place to relax during the warmer months.
The Mead also offers an Adult Day Care Service which provides care during the day for individuals who live within the local community. This care takes place within the care home’s day care centre and includes compassionate care, good company, entertainment and a nutritious two course meal as well as refreshments.

Meet our team

Ivan Panev
Home Manager
I started my career in August 2017 as a Care Assistant and I progressed to Home Manager, passing through all positions until my current one.
I believe in people’s values and respect. I love working with people from different cultures. Open and honest communication is very important to me, and I found that Rhythm Of Life is a unique approach to providing person-centered care.

Daiva Giedraitiene
Deputy Home Manager
My approach in life is “Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself” which is very much applicable in care, as residents deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, kindness and compassion. I started my journey in care at The Mead in 2015 as a carer and progressed to Deputy Manager. I feel honoured for the opportunity to continue providing support to residents, their families and our lovely team.

Roxanne Hopwood
Chef Manager
The Chef Manager organises every aspect of the catering operation and provides a safe, nutritious, quality service to our residents using freshly produced food. With a hands-on role, leading a team, they provide a quality catering service and help create a warm and friendly atmosphere for our residents. Working with our residents they help to create menus to meet their needs and suit their tastes.

Caroline Perkis
Housekeeping Manager
Keeping the team of Housekeepers running as it should is the Housekeeping Manager. Supervising and organising their teams is just part of their role as these managers work alongside their team to keep the home clean and inviting. The team play an important role in maintaining our infection prevention and control standards to make sure our residents stay safe and well.

Susan Humphries
Administrator
The Administrator will focus on the smooth running of the home; in whatever area they may be needed. From greeting visitors to recruiting, the Administrator is present in many aspects of life in the home, even if you don’t always see them! To be successful in the role, our Administrators have to be flexible and calm, able to multi-task and always keen to take on a new challenge. It’s often the Administrator that brings the IT skills to a home, helping them to keep everything organised. Above that though, Administrators are communicators, able to speak confidently and listen closely to everyone from Managers and Care Workers to visitors and residents.
