We were proud to host the official opening ceremony of Melwood Grange Care Home, bringing together residents, families, Quantum Care team members, health and social care professionals, and special guests to mark the occasion in style.

Although Melwood Grange Care Home, located in the heart of Royston, first opened its doors to residents in November, this celebratory event was a chance for the local community to come together and formally welcome the home as a valuable addition to the area.

Guests were warmly welcomed with drinks in the home’s café before being taken on guided tours of the beautifully designed home. The tour included highlights such as the luxurious cinema, a private dining room for special family occasions, the fully equipped hair and beauty salon, and a dedicated family room — all part of Melwood Grange’s commitment to providing an exceptional standard of care in a warm, homely environment.

The event culminated in an official ribbon cutting ceremony led by the Royston Town Mayor Councillor John Rees who was joined by residents and staff from the home, as well as Quantum Care Chief Executive Maria Ball and Chair of the Board Julian Baust. The ceremony symbolised not only the opening of the home, but also a celebration of the community spirit and care that Melwood Grange embodies.

Following the formal proceedings, guests were treated to a delicious buffet prepared by the home’s talented chef and culinary team, and enjoyed live entertainment, bringing the day to a close.

Speaking at the event, Maria Ball said: “We are delighted and proud to be officially opening our new care home in Royston. Melwood Grange has been designed to be a place where people can live well, where families feel welcome, and where our dedicated care teams are proud to work every day. We look forward to Melwood Grange becoming a real hub for the community so today we are celebrating our beautiful new home, a new chapter, and a shared commitment to giving older people in Royston the very best care and quality of life”.

Melwood Grange Care Home provides residential, dementia and nursing care and is part of the Quantum Care group, a not for profit Community Benefit Society which has been serving older people in Hertfordshire and beyond for over 30 years.
