We are delighted to announce that a number of our amazing team members have reached the finals of this year’s Great British Care Awards, East of England.

These awards are a celebration of excellence in care across the care sector and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Our finalists are:

Elaine Frame (Mayfair Lodge) – Frontline Leaders Award

This award recognises a supervisor, senior care worker, team leader, or first-time manager who has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving care and support delivery within their team.

Jackie Makwangwala (Mayfair Lodge) – Outstanding Contribution Award

This special award honours an individual who has made a lasting, outstanding contribution to social care. Open to nominees from all areas of the sector, this award recognises dedication, leadership, and innovative approaches that have significantly improved the quality of care.

Melissa King (Jubilee Court) – Care Home Registered Manager Award

This award recognises an outstanding Care Home Registered Manager who demonstrates expertise, leadership, and a clear vision for developing high-quality, person-centred care.

Gilbert Thomas (Garden City Court) – Ancillary Worker Award

This award recognises excellence in person-centred ancillary services, such as those provided by handypersons, cleaners, and receptionists, who deliver exceptional support with dignity and respect.

Tyler Johnson (Vesta Lodge) – Care Home Cook/Chef Award

This award highlights the vital role played by those providing food and nutrition in care homes, recognising the contributions of catering teams, care staff, and nutrition-focused initiatives.

The award ceremony will take place on 31st October at the Milton Keynes Dons. Congratulations to all our finalists and we wish each of you the very best of luck in on the day!
