Overview

Elm View provides exceptional luxury accommodation for 78 residents each within their own en-suite bedroom which is fully furnished with items from our carefully selected range.

The interior spaces of the home take their inspiration from Bishop Stortford’s rich literary history and include the Reading Room Café, a space where residents, their friends and their families can gather together and share warmth and laughter over a delicious array of coffee, tea and cake.

The home boasts elegantly appointed dining rooms and lounges, providing space for shared moments with others. You can also find a hair and beauty salon, a spa room and a cinema. All of our communal areas feature air conditioning. Outside, beautifully designed landscaped gardens offer a tranquil backdrop, complemented by spacious balconies perfect for socialising on in the warmer months.

The vibrant activities programme at Elm View is wide and varied and is designed to bring meaningful enjoyment into everyday life while fostering a sense of community and belonging. Each day brings a new choice of activities to enjoy so there is always something to look forward to.

The home offers residential and specialist dementia care as well as respite care, which is a short period of stay within the home enabling those caring for an individual to take time off while the home takes up the responsibility of providing the care. Respite care is also perfect for those individuals who want to see what care home life is like without making a longer-term commitment.

At Elm View Care Home you are free to live and enjoy life in any way you wish, with the support from our helpful and compassionate carers whenever it’s needed. We’ll take care of everything while you concentrate on enjoying life to its fullest.

The design principles behind this contemporary home have resulted in a beautiful and welcoming environment for its residents.

    General Manager

I have worked for Quantum Care for many years starting as a Carer in 2003 and working my way up to Home Manager position. All I wanted from a young age was to look after people. I have undertaken various training in Management and Leadership which has given me the knowledge and direction to be effective in my job role. I believe that people should be cared for in a holistic way taking into account what makes them who they are. I take pride in championing others to be the best they can be in their job role. It is important to me that I develop meaningful relationships with residents, staff, relatives and other stakeholders to facilitate working in partnership to benefit everyone involved with the home, mainly the residents. I see myself as an advocate for the residents making sure that they receive the best care possible, especially those who can no longer communicate their needs or those living with dementia.

    Deputy Manager

The Deputy Manager shares responsibility with the General Manager for running the home. Deputy Manager’s will each bring their own skill set to the home, some offering more assistance with the business side of things while others focus largely on care. However, whether they look at it from a business or care perspective, the focus of the Deputy is always to ensure that their home is offering the very best quality of life for our residents. Experienced and either holding or working towards their qualifications, Deputy Managers are driven to providing the best of everything for their residents.

    Administrator

The Administrator will focus on the smooth running of the home; in whatever area they may be needed. From greeting visitors to recruiting, the Administrator is present in many aspects of life in the home, even if you don’t always see them! To be successful in the role, our Administrators have to be flexible and calm, able to multi-task and always keen to take on a new challenge. It’s often the Administrator that brings the IT skills to a home, helping them to keep everything organised. Above that though, Administrators are communicators, able to speak confidently and listen closely to everyone from Managers and Care Workers to visitors and residents.

    Receptionist

The receptionist plays a key part in keeping the home operating as it should. The role involves everything from dealing with phone enquiries to showing around prospective residents. Organisational and communication skills are a must for a receptionist as it’s these qualities that allow them to make life in the home easier for their colleagues and residents. Often the first person you’ll speak to when you come to the home, the receptionist represents the company with a professional manner, friendly approach, and commitment to high-quality care.

We had to find respite care for Mum at short notice and landed on our feet with Elm View, which is on our doorstep. The manager was so helpful, admitting mum very quickly. The home has every possible amenity, including a nice garden and patios around the building. There is a good range of activities on offer too. Although mum found it hard to settle in the first few weeks, she has warmed to the place, including the excellent food and she now has the appetite she last had thirty years ago! The best and most important thing is the quality of the staff, who are very friendly, genuinely caring and efficient in going about their work and many have made firm friends with mum.
