Welcome to Oakmoor Lodge
Oakmoor Lodge, our new care home for older people in Bushey, represents the latest in care home design. The home includes 72 en-suite bedrooms, all fully furnished with items from our carefully selected range and is situated a short distance away from the popular Bushey Museum and Art Gallery which hosts exhibitions from local artists, as well as from those further afield.
Oakmoor Lodge offers residential and specialist dementia care as well as convalescence care for individuals who just need to get back on their feet again after, say, a stay in hospital or an illness. Short breaks are also on offer, enabling those caring for an individual to take time off from caring, allowing the home to take up the care while they themselves rest and recover.
At Oakmoor Lodge, you have the freedom to enjoy spending time in any way you wish. You’ll have your own fully furnished room with en-suite facilities, a flat screen television as well as your own telephone connection point and Internet access.
If you’re looking to spend time with others the home features a wide range of social areas including comfortable lounges, a number of dining rooms, cosy corners and more. If you’re a film lover, Oakmoor Lodge also has the Arthouse Cinema room for you to enjoy.
There’s also the Gallery Café which has been designed to reflect Bushey’s rich artistic history. The café acts as a focal point of the home and is a wonderful place to sit and chat with others.
The design principles behind this contemporary home have resulted in beautiful and welcoming interior spaces.

Types of care we support
Meet our team
Our Oakmoor Lodge team is led by Priscilia Okwuka. Following a career in financial management, Priscilia began working in Social Care in 2007, and has been a registered Care Home Manager since 2014. Priscilia holds an NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care as well as an NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care.
Priscilia is passionate about using her knowledge and experience to provide a warm and welcoming environment for our residents, where they are recognized as individuals and given every opportunity to pursue their interests and offered a range of meaningful activities. She looks forward to leading a care team that is valued, fully committed, well-trained and enthusiastic in advancing in their chosen career.
The Deputy Home Manager shares responsibility with the Home Manager for running the home. Deputy Managers will each bring their unique skill set to the home, some offering more assistance with the business side of things while others focus largely on care. However, whether they look at it from a business or care perspective, the focus of the Deputy is always to ensure that their home is offering the very best quality of life for our residents. Experienced and either holding or working towards their qualifications, Deputy Home Managers are capable and driven to providing the best of everything for their residents.
With over 20 years’ experience within the Care Home sector, I fully understand just how challenging it can be looking for a care home. My role is as the first point of contact, to help you navigate your way to making the best care decisions and to support you through the move in process. I am passionate about ensuring our residents live the best quality of life, in a caring, supportive environment at Oakmoor Lodge.
Keeping the team of Housekeepers running as it should is the Housekeeping Manager. Supervising and organising their teams is just part of it as these Managers work alongside them to keep the home clean and inviting. The comfort of residents is the most important thing to our Housekeeping Managers which is why they work so hard to create an environment in which residents can’t help but feel at home. Multi-tasking and communication skills are some of the most important of the Housekeeping Manager’s qualities as they and their team create a home where resident’s dignity is never compromised and independence is always encouraged. Our Housekeeping Managers ensure that all areas of our home are safe, clean, well maintained and presented in a way to create a warm and homely environment. They have an important role in maintaining our infection, prevention and control standards to make sure our residents stay well.
I have worked for Quantum care for many years. I enjoy my role as the home administrator as I am able to interact with both the residents and their families on a daily basis, whilst providing support to all of my colleagues to keep the home running smoothly.
The Receptionist plays a key part in keeping the home operating as it should. The role involves everything from dealing with phone enquiries to showing around prospective residents. Organisational and communication skills are a must for a Receptionist as it’s these qualities that allow them to make life in the home easier for their colleagues and residents. Often the first person you’ll speak to when you come to the home, the Receptionist represents the company with a professional manner, friendly approach, and commitment to high-quality care.
Animal Therapy at Oakmoor Lodge
We regularly enjoy a visit from Shirley and her 4 legged therapy dog Button and Claire with her therapy dog Pixie. Animal therapy has been proven to be a big hit with our residents whose smiling faces attest to this.
Veganuary at Oakmoor Lodge
Following on from Oakmoor Lodge going dry in January, it was time to celebrate Veganuary. This was an opportunity for our residents to explore and try a variety of vegan foods, many of them being a first time treat.
